The Sustainable Energy Association welcomes the recent announcement of a cross party agreement for action on climate change. Similar cross-party support for an energy in buildings strategy would help to deliver these climate commitments as well as provide a more secure, clean and affordable energy future for the people of Britain and help ensure continued investment for businesses, creating jobs and developing opportunities for the industry.
Dave Sowden, Chief Executive of the Sustainable Energy Association, said:
“With uncertainty over the outcome of the election and the future of energy policy we need to see more ambition.
“More commitment from the full political spectrum is needed to build up the confidence the industry needs. There is still work to do; we would encourage all the political parties to make sure that their promises for energy policy are solid and consider the clear economic benefits of a national energy efficiency programme in the UK’s buildings.”
