The Sustainable Energy Association announced today that Edwin Bannock MBE, chair of the Board Ice Energy Technologies Ltd, has been elected as its new Vice President and chair of its Executive Committee, to serve for the next two years.
Commenting on the result, Edwin Bannock said:
“I’m delighted to take on this important role at such a key time in the development of the industry. The SEA’s well-informed, evidence-based approach commands great respect in Government and I am looking forward to working with Dave Sowden and his team to influence the policy framework to create a blossoming market for SEA members’ products and services. Energy Policy needs to place building fabric first (including efficient heating systems) as the most cost effective way of meeting all the country’s Energy Policy goals and the next two years mark a critical time in the industry’s development.
“I would like on behalf of the whole Executive Committee to thank the outgoing Vice President, Bill Rumble, for his vision, leadership and hard work in helping the SEA transform from its original legacy in microgeneration, to become one of today’s most influential voices in the sector across the whole spectrum of building-level energy measures.”
The outgoing Vice President, Bill Rumble, said:
“It has been a challenge and an honour to lead the SEA for the past two years. Parts of the industry have been through some particularly difficult times following short-term changes in policy, but I believe the coming months and years provide a new and rare opportunity for a fundamentally more strategic approach to be taken to policy making for the demand-side of the energy sector. I would like to congratulate Edwin on his election as chair, and I know given his background and experience that he will bring strong leadership and influence to the organisation during a critical two years ahead.”
