The SEA’s report: ‘A Technology-Agnostic Approach to Heat and Buildings Policy’, chimes in with recommendations from the Government’s Independent Review of Net Zero and calls for changes to national policy development on decarbonising the built environment.
The report argues that a diversity of technologies are needed when targeting the best outcomes for the UK’s transition to Net Zero, looking more broadly at tailoring policies to deploy the most favourable technologies that achieve the best results for cost effectiveness, abating carbon, and enhancing health and wellbeing in buildings. Produced in collaboration with key partner organisations, the extensive report and analyses covers why more agnostic policies for heating and buildings should take into account consumer preferences and the practicalities, situation, and construction of individual buildings to deploy the most appropriate technologies.
